Hi God Forbid,
I'm very pleased that you're giving me and our readers the chance to ask you a few questions. Would you please introduce yourself to our readers and especially to those, who don't know God Forbid yet?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
My name is Corey Pierce the drummer of God Forbid. We have been around about 12 years now and toured with many, many bands.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
First of all, let me congratulate you guys to your new album Equilibrium, which got 9,5 / 10 points in our review at Time For Metal. Do reviews mean a lot to you or are they rather useless for you as a band?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
Well first of all thank you! I mean everyone loves to read great reviews and see that press who listen to music all the time appreciate our music.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
The first impression your listeners get from your new release is the artwork, which is basically black and white. What do you want to tell your listeners with this piece of art?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
Well we asked the artist Gustavo to create something that was interesting yet deliberate. We think he accomplished just that.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
Who writes your Songs? Do you all do it together, or is there one special genius in the band, who writes all of them?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
We do a lot of teamwork but Doc Coyle and Matt Wicklund (guitars ) have a lot of structures thought out and then we jam and finish the songs. Sometimes we also just jam and come up with songs.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
Can you tell our readers a bit more about the thoughts you wrote down in the news songs?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
All the songs are just written notices of life experiences. It's a very mature album lyrically.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
Where has Equilibrium been recorded and did you had a fun time doing it?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
It was recorded at Trax East studios, Audio Hammer studios and our singers (Byron Davis) house. We had a great time making this record, even though it was hard work.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
Are you satisfied with how your new record sounds?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
We are overwhelmed with joy about how this record sounds.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
What kind of music do you listen to for yourselves? And what does music in general mean to you?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
We all listen to all different kinds of music.. Music is life to us.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
Are there any live shows planned in Europe / Germany in the near future?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
We are looking to come over to Europe in the fall of this year.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
Do you have a special ritual to get ready for a show?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
Just warm up and stay relaxed.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
Is there any special place, where you want to play some day?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
DEFINATELY looking to get to china and the pacific rim.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
So... One thing, which is always interesting to know about bands: What are your favorite drinks?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
We drink a lot of whiskey! haha
Time For Metal / Maddin:
In today's society, the internet is the first place to find news about bands etc.. How can our readers find you in the world wide web?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
We have a Facebook page and Twitter.. You can also just google "god forbid the band".
Time For Metal / Maddin:
Speaking about the internet in today's society: how do you think about illegal sharing of music, movies and so on?
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
Well it's just a part of our world as w e know it today.. There isn't much you can do about it, so it's best to just accept it and do your best to give people incentive to purchase your music.
Time For Metal / Maddin:
God Forbid, thank you for taking the time to answer us these questions. I'm wishing you all the best for your future.
Finally, the last words belong to you
God Forbid / Corey Pierce:
well thank you so much. Always happy to do interviews. We look forward to seeing all fans and friends out on the road!
